Floyd Spoon

Floyd Spoon

Jay Hinely (AKA Floyd Spoon) developed a love for visual arts, science fiction movies and alien beings, growing up in a rural town outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. A child of the 80, Star Wars, MTV, ATARI, and NASA were influential in his artistic style.  When he was young, Jay learned he could put things on canvas that “wowed” people; and truly made people understand what he saw and felt.  Jay attended Vicky Hardy School of Art and Harrison Bay Vocational Technical Center in Tennessee. He stopped painting at the age of 19, raised his children as a single father, but never lost his love for art. Jay’s passion has always been to create works that encompass his mind, heart, voice, emotions and vision to connect with the public. Now, at middle age, he is using his God-given gift, to paint, to create, to express, and to “wow.”
